A Christmas Poem

The world is filled with Christmas;
My heart knows not a care,
But burns with tiny candles
That I have lighted there.
I’ve trimmed the tree with color
And made the silver shine;
And I am hearing carols
Within this hear of mine.
I’ve dusted out each corner
Of every waiting room;
The house is filled with pine cones
And poinsettia blooms.

A Christmas Poem

Legacy of the Wind
Where was the wind while the shepherds watched
And the sleepy stars candled the night?
Did it hear the innkeeper say “no room”
And wait by the stable site?
I am sure it nestled by donkey and lamb
And stirred the redolent hay
And was first to kiss the Christ Child’s cheek -
